Overview

Many developments in treatment options for GI cancers are being presented at various international congresses and keeping up with these advances is a challenge for the practicing clinicians. A need for specific medical education regarding the scientific results of the recent trials in GI cancer and the clinical achievements in treating this disease has clearly been identified.

  

In cooperation with Dr. Matti Aapro and Eric Van Cutsem, there will be an international course specifically addressing the issues stated above.This course covering advances in GI cancer will be co-chaired by three Chairs: M.P. Lutz, M. Ducreux and A. Roth.

  

Course Objectives

  • To provide a scientific background with regard to the relevant disease areas
  • To provide a scientific background with regard to available and emerging therapies treating the various disease stages
  • To provide relevant information on side effects of therapies for treating the various disease stages
  • To understand the recent clinical achievements in the field of GI cancer
  • To facilitate the knowledge transfer from academia to the practicing oncologists to improve patient care and clinical outcome
