The new understanding of multiple myeloma has evolved from theory to practical clinical application. The initial successes promise to become very important for cancer patient care. There are many questions that will need evaluation, and the professional, patient and lay community is looking forward to these developments. We wish great success to this meeting, organized in collaboration with a great faculty and our two centers.
